Rates and Insurance

Rates
Fees and potential insurance reimbursement will be discussed when the initial appointment is scheduled. It is the client's responsibility to know what their policy may reimburse and amount of their co-pay.  Payment is due at the beginning of the session when services are rendered. 

Insurance 
Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

Out-of Network Benefits 
If New Normal Counseling Center does not participate with your insurance and you wish to continue counseling, then you will want to verify your out-of-network benefits for mental health services.  You will first pay for your sessions out-of-pocket.  You will then be provided claim forms on a monthly basis for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.  You will need to find out from your insurance company the percentage that your plan will reimburse.

Cancellation Policy  
If you do not show up for your scheduled counseling appointment (or if you do not provide at least 24 hours prior to cancelling your appointment) you will be required to pay the full $75.00 cancellation fee before your next scheduled appointment. 

Please Note: Insurance Companies are not billed for missed appointments.  The cost of a missed appointment is your responsibility.

You are responsible for any services your insurance carrier does not cover.

Reduced Fee
 
Reduced fee services are available on a very limited basis.

Pro Bono Counseling
Through our Pro Bono Counseling program, we have a LGPC available to provide FREE short-term counseling to underinsured or uninsured individuals in need of services.   Through the program, we offer 3-4 sessions, which is often enough to to get a person back on their feet and feeling better.  To be eligible for this program, individuals will need to fill out and submit  a "Sliding Fee Scale" application along with the required supporting documents. The number of slots available in the program is solely dependent on the therapist’s current case load. Payment 
Cash, checks, and all major debit/credit cards are accepted for payment.  Debit/credit card transactions are subject to an additional 2.75% fee.
