Mental Health Counselor

Looking for an energetic, independently licensed clinician (LCPC, LCSW-C, or LCMFT) for a part-time position (evenings and Saturdays). New Normal Counseling Center is a growing private practice in Hanover, MD. This position requires providing individual, family and couples therapy and providing services for adults, adolescents, and children. The practice is open Monday – Friday evenings and Saturdays. You can essentially make your own schedule as long as you are available evenings and Saturdays. You come in, see your clients, complete minimal paperwork, and that's it! Scheduling, billing and other administrative duties will be completed for you!

Hours and caseload are contingent upon agency referrals and therapist availability, not to exceed 20 hours per week.

Requirements:

  • Must be fully licensed (LCPC, LCSW-C, or LCMFT)

  • Master's degree in a mental health related field

  • Able to become credentialed with major insurance companies

  • Carry own liability insurance

  • Complete CAQH application

  • Able to maintain a case load of a minimum of 10-15 clients per week.

 Office Assistant

New Normal Counseling & Consulting Services is a small, yet stable private practice counseling center located in Hanover, MD. Our mission is to provide excellent counseling services to members of our community. We offer a wide range of services including pro bono services. We are looking for an energetic, passionate, and self-motivated individual to join our team. Gain hands-on experience learning several aspects of a private mental health practice. Our office is open Monday - Saturday, 11am-7pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Answering phone calls and greeting people who come to the office.

  • Assisting with scheduling.

  • Assisting the practice manager, counselors, and other staff.

  • Ensuring that intake documents are completed by clients.

  • Entering/verifying new client information in EHR.

  • Reminding clients of their upcoming appointments.

  • Updating/maintaining social media presence.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude; positive energy; good personality

  • Punctual / dependable / good attendance record

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel)

  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a positive attitude.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Professional social media skills (preferred)

Are you an LGPC looking for supervision? 

New Normal Counseling Center offers Licensed Graduate Professional Counselors the opportunity to be supervised by an LCP-S.  The LGPC will be able to provide individual and couples counseling to clients and receive one hour of individual supervision per week.  The supervisor charges a reduced fee for this weekly session.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Conducts intake interviews with clients who request counseling services and completes the required clinical documentation via our electronic record keeping system within the same day.

  • Provides individual/couples counseling to clients on a scheduled basis or through crisis intervention.

  • Maintains up-to-date clinical documentation via out electronic record keeping system.

  • Consults with supervisor and staff as needed.

  • Participates in supervision and training with an openness to learning and receiving feedback.

  • Utilizes psychodiagnostic assessment procedures and psychodynamic methods to facilitate psychotherapy as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must be an LGPC

  • Master's degree in a mental health related field

  • Must be able to work evenings and Saturdays (ability to make your own schedule within those hours)
